Before You Begin: Zoom is a free service that anyone can use, but you can control more of how it works when you register for an account. Even if you choose to join meetings without registering, you will still need to download the software to participate. Step 1: Download Zoom. If a pop-up appears, click Download. When the download is completed, your selected virtual background will appear. Other Settings in Zoom There are other settings you can adjust in Zoom to personalize your experience. Tap Settings. Tap Meetings.
Tap the back arrow at the top of the screen. Tap Start. Tap Call in Using Internet Audio. Tap the More menu. Tap Virtual Background. Tap End to leave the meeting. This information will include: A unique URL for your Zoom meeting A meeting ID A call-in phone number Please note: We recommend starting your Zoom about five minutes before the scheduled program start so that you can make sure everything is working properly.
Click Open Link in the pop-up that appears. Click Join with Computer Audio. Click Join a Meeting. Type the meeting ID into the box. Click Join. Type the password when prompted. Click Join Meeting. Choose whether you want to join with video. Tap Join. Type the meeting ID. Tap Continue. Choose whether you want audio or video to appear. Tap Join a Meeting. Your screen view is changed to Gallery View. Tap the circle with the 9-square grid on the left side of your screen.

If your video is on, participants will be able to see whatever is in the view of your computer camera. Green Arrow: This allows you to see how many people are participating in the meeting. By clicking on the icon, a side bar will open with the names of all participants.
Grey Arrow: Zoom allows participants to share content to the meeting window. If the host allows, participants can click this icon and then choose what files from their computer to share.
White Arrow: Depending on the host settings, you may find an option to record the meeting to your computer. Click this one and you are done! Zoom Client allows participants to join meetings without downloading any plugins or software. It works similar to an app on a mobile device and does not require you to open an internet browser. To join a meeting using Zoom Client, open the application on your computer.
This information must be provided to you by the host. If the host emailed the invitation to you, it would be located below the URL link. The meeting ID is usually a series of numbers. You must provide a name to appear in the participants list for the meeting.
You can also choose to have your audio and video off upon entering the meeting by checking those boxes. You will now be asked to provide a meeting passcode. This passcode can be found right below the meeting ID on the invitation sent to you.
You may not be able to copy and paste. As a security feature, the client may require you to type the passcode in.

Put in the date, time, and duration of your meeting. This will generate a unique ID for that meeting rather than use your personal meeting ID. Under the Security heading, you will be assigned a passcode; you can change it if you want. Use the virtual waiting room As mentioned before, you can approve anyone who wants to join a meeting by using a virtual waiting room, from which you can then either let them in — or not.
